Tour Plan
In the morning around 7am, our driver guide will meet you at your accommodation and get start traveling to Merzouga through Ifrane and Errachidia. We will make first stop in Ifrane city referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco” and second stop in Azrou at cedar forest the famous and largest in Morocco to see Barbarian apes. Continuing our road to Sahara desert via Midelt the famous town of apples where we will have lunch. During this tour you will experience views of the Atlas Mountains (Middle & Higher). Later in the afternoon we’ll drive towards Tizi N’talghoumte pass (1907m), passing through the incredible Berber villages, and stop at the wonderful Ziz Valley situated near Errachidia city. After that we will continue to Merzouga via Aoufous and Erfoud to arrive at the magic land of sand dunes (Erg-Chebbi). Dinner and overnight will be in a hotel / or Riad.
After breakfast, we will start our journey around Erg-Chebbi sand dunes. We will explore many interesting places of the area such as: Merzouga Lake (not always full of water) to see the kinds of birds (ducks & flamingos) that coming to live in this lake especially in spring time. We will visit khamliya village where you will listen African music (Gnawa) played by the people originally from the black Africa, then we will continue our off-road desert tour to the black desert behind Erg-Chebbi sand dunes. We will visit an abandoned village where the working mineral fossils, then drive to visit a nomadic Berber family to see them lifestyle.
We’ll back to khamliya to have a delicious lunch in Local restaurant. In the afternoon you will start Camel Trekking Adventure, across the beautiful unique orange colored sand dunes to desert camp. The great experience where you can feed your soul, enjoy the wonderful sunset from the middle of dunes. Dinner & overnight will be in camp, music played and you can frolic on the sand dunes under zillions of stars.
In the morning of last day of our 3 days from Fes to Merzouga desert tour, we recommend you to wake up early for beautiful sunrise. Then, have shower and breakfast at the camp. After that you will ride camels or transfer back by vehicle if you want to Merzouga village where you will meet you driver guide. Then, we leave Sahara Desert and drive back to reach Fes “the spiritual city of Morocco” again with stops along the way for wonderful panoramic views to take pictures, free time on Midelt for lunch. Arriving in the evening to Fes drop you off at your accommodation and end of our 3 days desert tour & services.
